Ecology, economic meet in harmony in Jining along Yellow River

Jining in Shandong province has become a model for sustainable development in the Yellow River Basin. By integrating ecological protection, industrial transformation, and cultural heritage, the city is creating a future where nature and prosperity intertwine.

Jining has made significant strides in ecological conservation. The city has established a green corridor along the Yellow River, improving both the landscape and ecological functions. A Yellow River scenic route centered around Liangshan county's Yellow River embankment has been recognized as a typical section of the national Yellow River scenic route in Shandong in 2023.

Technology has played a crucial role in Jining's efforts. The Liangshan County Yellow River Conservancy Bureau has deployed advanced monitoring systems, including 67 video surveillance points, five drones, and four remote consultation systems. These tools have significantly improved the efficiency of river management and safety.

Strategically located at the junction of the Yellow River and the Grand Canal, Jining, the cradle of Confucianism, is committed to preserving and promoting Yellow River culture by blending it with the cultures of the Grand Canal and Confucianism. The city is constructing the Yellow River National Cultural Park and cultural experience corridors. Through these initiatives, the city aims to protect and pass on the rich cultural heritage of the Yellow River.

Additionally, Jining is transforming its traditional industries into modern logistics hubs. The city's port, with its strategic location at the intersection of major transportation routes, is becoming a vital inland logistics center. To date, Jining Port has operated 29 container routes, reaching over 50 ports and covering 152 cities in 20 provinces across China. It handles more than 100 types of cargo, with international logistics extending to 16 countries.
